Duane 'Keffe D' Davis Convicted of First-Degree Murder in 1996 Killing of Tupac Shakur

A Nevada jury on Monday delivered a first-degree murder conviction against Duane "Keffe D" Davis for his role in the 1996 drive-by shooting that claimed the life of acclaimed rap artist Tupac Shakur. The verdict included the use of a deadly weapon enhancement.

The decision came after jurors concluded their deliberations earlier in the day, following the presentation of closing arguments in the high-profile trial that has garnered significant attention.

The 16-member panel, which included four alternate jurors, heard extensive testimony over nine days. Prosecutors called 24 witnesses, while the defense presented three.

The fatal incident occurred on September 7, 1996, on the Las Vegas Strip, when a gunman in a white Cadillac opened fire on a BMW carrying Shakur and Marion "Suge" Knight. While Knight sustained minor injuries and recovered, Shakur succumbed to his wounds six days later at the age of 25.
